Lizette Babun

Lizette Babun is founding attorney and the managing partner of the Miami-based law firm,  BABUN & TORRES, P.A., where she has devoted up to seventy five percent of the Firm’s practice to  servicing legal service groups for the last thirty (30) years. She has advanced knowledge of the legal,  regulatory, marketing and financial aspects of providing large group insurance services having previously  worked for the former American Banker’s Insurance Group, as both in-house State Filings and  Government Affairs. As an immigrant to the United States and a first generation college graduate with a  Juris Doctorate Degree, she takes great pride in zealously representing her clients who have come from  other countries and US Citizens. Her hard-core work ethic has inspired her to work extremely hard for  her clients to prove what her clients believe is fair in the eyes of the law. 

Lizette is responsible for about half the nearly nineteen thousand files that have been opened  by the Firm over the years including representing parents in dependency cases, termination of parental  rights, individual and business clients on administrative, bankruptcy, business, civil, corporate, criminal,  estate planning, family, financial, mediation, real estate and traffic matters. Her strategic planning duties  include developing and implementing customer service in the firm, making the clients comfortable while  they are in the legal process even though they may be going through difficult times. This strategy allows  for the increase of client referrals from their family and friends and thereby increasing the number of  office files.   

Lizette speaks fluent Spanish and is sensitive to the different Hispanic cultures to allow her a  better understanding of her Spanish speaking clients. When she is not assisting with speech and debate  tournaments, she can be found spending time with his young adult Sons and Husband, Matthew Torres, who is also her law partner.

United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida (Federal), since January 1994. United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida (Federal), since January 1994. Mediator, Florida Supreme Court Certified Family, Circuit & County Court Mediator, since March 2005.
